GENERAL INFORMATION |
- GARBAGE is defined as refuse primarily
generated from the kitchen. This material must be placed in plastic bags
before being placed in the green rollout cart provided to you by the city.
Each resident is issued one cart at no charge. A $60 replacement fee
is charged for carts that are lost, stolen , or damaged beyond repair.
Carts remain at the residence if you move.
|
- TRASH is defined as refuse other than garbage.
If this material cannot be bagged, it may be stacked on the curb beside
your cart. Some examples of trash are junk from a closet, broken
furniture, etc.
|
| Because North
Carolina State regulations require separation of some items dumped into the

items. |

|
The city does,
however, conduct an annual citywide clean up usually in the spring.
During this time, tires (with no rims) and white goods (listed above) are
collected. Times and dates for this special collection are advertised
in the Salisbury Post on Sunday prior to clean-up week and on local radio
stations.
