The Fleet Division is responsible for the
support of The City Of Salisbury's vehicles and equipment. The Fleet
Division currently maintains 676 units in the city fleet or about 14 million
dollars in assets. These units are broken down into 10 categories as
follows: |

| Fleet division duties begin with the
specification of equipment types need and carry through the vehicle life
until recycled or disposed. Four hundred(400) repairs are completed
each month these ranges from minor service to vehicle modifications and
major rebuilds. |
| The shop is open 5:00 Am to 5:00 PM each day and
is on call 24 hours per day 365 days per year. It is the goal of the
Fleet Division to lower vehicle costs in many different ways. These
include: Reduce down time, increase dependability, increase asset
utilization, monitor asset damage, extend equipment life, and modify or
reassign existing equipment to meet changing needs. |
