Paul Moore Receives Young
Professional Award
November 11, 2008
Paul Moore, Recreation Coordinator at City Park Center, received the
North Carolina Recreation and Parks (NCRPA) Young Professionals
Award at the organization’s annual awards banquet held in Charlotte
on Tuesday, November 11 during the NCRPA State Conference. Paul was
honored with this award for his years of service and dedication to
the parks and recreation profession in the state of North Carolina.
Paul has worked for the Salisbury Parks and Recreation Department
for more than eight years as a Recreation Coordinator at both the
Salisbury Civic Center and now at City Park Center. His efforts with
the department include the development and growth of the Civic
Center’s annual Wedding Extravaganza, City Park’s USTA Kiwanis
Junior Open Tennis Tournament, Professional Disc Golf Association
(PDGA) Disc Golf Tournaments and North Carolina Cyclo-Cross races.
Paul is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) by the
National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA), a Shag Dance
instructor and board member and is the department liaison to Rowan
County Special Populations. In addition, Paul has served as an NCRPA
Conference committee member and is a graduate of Supervisor’s
Management School, a two year program facilitated in Oglebay, West
Virginia.
Prior to joining our department, Paul worked as an Assistant Sports
Director with the Alamance County Community YMCA in Burlington,
North Carolina. Paul graduated in 1998 from The Citadel with a
Bachelor of Science in Physical Education (Professional Health and
Wellness.) He currently resides in Lexington, North Carolina with
his Boston Terrier, Rock. |
