The Salisbury Parks &
Recreation Department’s Foundation Board cordially invites citizens
and local businesses to donate their empty printer cartridges and
used cell phones to Parks & Recreation in the name of fundraising
and saving the environment. For a full listing of qualifying
inkjet or laser printer cartridges and
cell phones, click the links above.
Inkjet and laser cartridges and abandoned cell phones may be dropped
off on the 4th floor, Parks
& Recreation Administration,
at the City Office Building, 132 N. Main Street in Salisbury.
These items will be packaged and forwarded to a recycle center via
collection boxes. The
non-profit foundation will in-turn receive credit for recycling
these items. The credit will be applied toward technology,
playground, sports and recreation equipment. Karen Wilkinson,
former Marketing
and Community Relations Manager for Parks &
Recreation states, “This is truly a win-win situation. An estimated 350,000,000 empty printer cartridges and used cell
phones will be
thrown away this year alone.
By recycling, we can do our part to help preserve the environment.” Salisburians
will reap the rewards of recycling as the Foundation obtains free
equipment for citizens’ enjoyment at parks and recreation centers.
Citizens may also visit one of the following locations to
drop off cartridges and cell phones and register for the FREE sports
package: Civic Center, 315 S. Boundary; City Park Center,
316 Lake
Drive; Miller Center, 1402 W. Bank Street or Hall Gym, 1400 W. Bank
Street.
In addition,
businesses may contact Elaney Hasselmann by
email
or by phone at 704-638-4460 regarding pick-up of large
donations or for more information.
