About the
LM&D Department
The
Land Management and Development Department manages the day-to-day and long-range growth
and development of the City of Salisbury. Under the direction of the City Manager,
the LM&D department coordinates projects with different City Departments, Citizens
Boards & Commissions, and other public and private agencies to ensure that our City
remains a healthy and vibrant community with a high quality of life for its citizens.
Made up of five different divisions, the
Land Management department handles everyday planning functions such as: issuing zoning
permits; administering the City's development ordinances; planning the City's
transportation network; coordinating neighborhood rehabilitation; and promoting historic
preservation--just to name a few. We also accomplish certain long-range planning
projects such as the Salisbury Thoroughfare Plan and the Salisbury Vision
2020 Comprehensive Plan.
