Salisbury Depot

The predominant structure in the district, the Salisbury Southern Railroad Passenger Depot, was designed by Frank Pierce Milburn and built in 1907-1908.   The station is an excellent example of a Spanish Mission style brick structure.   The building spans the length of two city blocks and includes a two-course water table dividing the dark red brick base and tan brick body of the building, Spanish tile roof, and a dominating central three and one-half story tower ornamented by projecting gargoyles.

The building was listed individually on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
