About Engineering Services
The
Engineering Division provides general engineering services for all issues not related to
the City's water and sewer utilities franchise. The Engineering Division works with
private citizens, the development industry, and the City Management. Engineering
acts as the citizen contact for issues relating to traffic, drainage, and street
lighting. Engineering provides administration of the Subdivision and Floodway
Ordinances and works closely with the Development Services Division to review private
development plans relating to grading, drainage, water and sewer utilities,
and streets. Engineering serves City
Management as a liaison to the North Carolina Department of Transportation and as designer
or administrator of many City construction projects.
