About Development Services The purpose of the City of Salisbury Development Services is to provide citizens, builders, and developers a centralized source of information, permit services, code enforcement, zoning, and special district board support. We are responsible for issuing permits such as water connection, sewer connection, driveways, and zoning which includes sign permits. Our staff takes pride in giving accurate information about the zoning of an individual property, city maps, group developments, ordinances, and the location of water and sewer lines. We have the responsibility of enforcement of the City of Salisbury Zoning Ordinance which includes building setbacks, parking requirements, landscaping and signs, just to name a few. The Technical Review Committee meets the third Thursday of the month. The deadline for plan submittal is the 1st business day of the month.
Other Information We are also active with several of the City's boards and commissions. The members of these boards and commissions are all volunteers who serve Salisbury in many important ways. The Development Services staff serves such boards as the Zoning Board of Adjustment, Historic Preservation Commission, and Planning Board.
