The Planning Board is
responsible for making recommendations in the form of policies and ordinances to the City
Council such as zoning map and text amendments, approval of subdivision plats, and general
plans and policies. |

Historic Preservation Commission
Second Thursday of every month, 5:00 PM, City
Council Chambers
The Historic Preservation Commission is responsible for receiving and approving
certificates of appropriateness for structures within local historic districts as well as
recommending to the City Council areas to be designated by ordinance as local historic
districts. |

Community Appearance Commission
First Wednesday of every month, 4:00 PM, City
Council Chambers
The Community Appearance Commission assists City Council in
initiating, establishing, and enhancing programs, projects, and policies that improve the
overall physical appearance and quality of life in Salisbury. |

Zoning Board of
Adjustment
Second Monday of every month, 4:00 PM, City
Council Chambers
The Zoning Board of Adjustment is responsible for hearing and deciding appeals to the
Zoning Ordinance as well as granting and permitting special exceptions, variances and
conditional uses. |

Tree Board
Third Wednesday of every month, 12:30 PM,

The Salisbury Tree Board is a five-member City Council advisory board that advocates the
planting, preservation and planting of trees on public rights of way and public
properties. |
