Public Education Phase

The following represents the schedule for the four-month educational portion of the Salisbury 2020 Comprehensive Planning process.  Speakers were selected for their expertise in community planning and are leaders in their respective fields.   All sessions are free and open to the public.  If you have any questions about the public education phase or anything else concerning Salisbury 2020, please contact Joe Morris a t 638-5324.

 


I.    Livable Communities:
Speaker: Mayor Joe Riley, Charleston, SC
When: February 10,  6:00p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

II.     Sustainable Development/ Smart Growth:
Speakers: David Walters, Professor of Architecture UNC-Charlotte – Smart Growth and Sustainable Development
Ann Hammond, Director of Planning Town of Huntersville – Adequate facilities ordinance and TDR’s.
Owen Furuseth, UNC-Charlotte Urban Institute - Open Space Conservation
Nate Bowman, Developer Huntersville, NC - utilizing smart growth techniques

V.     Neighborhood Planning/Public Safety:
