The Robertson Eastern-Gateway Park
| This small park was made possible by generosity of the family of Julian and
Blanche Robertson. The park features a fountain that replicates the figure
"Rebecca" which stood in the "Square" in downtown Salisbury in the
early 1900s. Watson Tate Architects of Columbia, SC designed the park. The landscape
architect was Maria Tucker, of Nelson Byrd Landscape Architects of Charlottesville, VA.
The park was recently recognized by the Preservation Foundation of North Carolina as an
outstanding contribution to historic landscapes. For more information on this project, contact Joe Morris, Urban Resource Planner. (704) 638-5324, or, jmorr@ci.salisbury.nc.us |
