About Community Planning Services
The
Community
Planning Services Department manages the day-to-day and long-range growth
and development of the City of Salisbury. Under the direction of the City Manager,
the department coordinates projects with different City Departments, Citizens
Boards & Commissions, and other public and private agencies to ensure that our City
remains a healthy and vibrant community with a high quality of life for its citizens.
Made up of three different divisions, the
Community
Planning Services Department handles everyday planning functions such as:
enforcing the City's land development ordinances; coordinating neighborhood rehabilitation; and promoting historic
preservation--just to name a few. We also accomplish certain long-range planning
projects such as the Salisbury Bicycle Plan and the Salisbury Vision
2020 Comprehensive Plan.
