The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for numerous tasks here at Salisbury Fire Department. Some of the responsibilities the Fire Prevention Division handles are: Investigations of all fires in the City of Salisbury, Public Education, Minimum Housing, Inspections of businesses, Issuing of Permits, and many more. The Fire Prevention Division is under the control of Battalion Chief Terry Smith, who is the Fire Marshal for Salisbury. The Assistant Fire Marshal for Salisbury is Captain Doug Stevens. There are three Fire Prevention Captains that work shift work. These Captains are the Safety Officer for each shift as well, and are assigned to Safety 1.
