Captain Overcash receives the Firefighter Gold Medal Award from  local VFW Post 3006.

Captain Todd Overcash,  21 Year Veteran of the Salisbury Fire Department.

On Saturday, November 9, 2002, at 1500 hours, the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Post 3006, located on Brenner Avenue in Salisbury, will present a local Firefighter Gold Medal Award. This award will be given nationwide to outstanding firefighters of local communities.

The Salisbury Fire Department is proud to announce that Captain G.T. Overcash has been selected to receive this year’s award. This award will be presented in recognition of his pre-eminent abilities, the compassion for his fellow human beings, the knowledge of and performance of his duties, his integrity and honor, and the service to the public he serves.

This award is given to honor ALL firefighters nationwide who exemplify all of the best qualities of our profession.

Congratulations to Captain Overcash for his contributions to the department and community during this past year.
