Fleet Management is responsible for the support of all City vehicles and equipment. The division currently maintains 764 units in the City fleet or approximately $21.5 million in assets and is staffed by 11 employees.
It is the goal of Fleet Management to lower vehicle costs in many different ways, including reducing vehicle down time, vehicle dependability, increase in asset utilization, monitor of asset damage, extending equipment life and modifying or reassigning existing equipment to meet the changing needs of City operations.
Fleet division duties begin with the specification of equipment types and needs and carry through the vehicle life until vehicles are recycled or disposed of.
On average, over four (400) hundred repairs are completed each month and range from minor service repairs to vehicle modifications and major rebuilds.
