 Adam Team Watch Commander Lieutenant Lee Walker

 


Adam Team Watch Commander, ​Lieutenant Lee Walker has 16 years of law enforcement experience, including over 4000 hours of specialized training specific to c
rash reconstruction, pedestrian crash reconstruction and commercial motor vehicle reconstruction.

Lt. Walker holds Bachelor’s Degree from Catawba College in Business Administration and has obtained the Advanced Law Enforcement Certificate from the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission and was selected as the 2010 Veteran Officer of the Year by his peers at the Salisbury Police Department.

In addition, Lt. Walker is a specialized physical fitness instructor, specialized driving instructor, specialized firearms instructor, specialized subject control instructor and teaches at both Rowan Cabarrus Community College and Davidson Community College. He's also a member of the department's Special Response Team (SRT) as a sniper and MP5 operator.

FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

Adam Team (6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.)

The position of Watch Commander (Patrol Lieutenant) is responsible for the day to day patrol operations and assigning units to specific beats based on each officers expertise or experience. They are also responsible for the timesheets, authorizing annual leave related to personnel. 

In addition, Watch Commanders conduct line inspections for uniforms, equipment and vehicles. They may also assign projects to officers to deal with certain crimes in a beat. Commanders may also attend community meetings to share information with the citizens and turn in monthly crime and project reports. 

Other areas of responsibility include enrolling officers in schools and training and ordering additional equipment and office supplies within their approved budget.
