Police Planner, Michael Dhooghe, graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Bachelors degree in Physics and was a member of the Sigma Pi Sigma Physics Honor Society.
Dhooghe was hired by the Salisbury Police Department as a Reserve Officer in 1999 and as a Crime Analyst in 2002. He began serving in his current role as Police Planner in 2011 where he also serves as the Accreditation Manager for the department. In 2011, he was selected by his peers as the Police Department Employee of the Year.
FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
The primary roles of the Police Planner position include serving as the department's accreditation manager, maintaining the department's international accreditation status, maintaining department policies, overseeing digital issues and producing crime statistics, maps and reports for administrative purposes.
